The 20th anniversary of French language schools

The 20th anniversary of French language schools in Ontario

More inclusive. More modern. More spirited.

Monday, January 15 – With great pride, the Association des conseils scolaires des écoles publiques de l’Ontario (ACÉPO) and the four Francophone school boards are launching celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of their founding. Joining forces to mark this historic occasion through various initiatives are the Conseil scolaire public Viamonde, the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO), the Conseil scolaire public du Nord de l’Ontario (CSPGNO), the Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario (CSPNE) and their umbrella association, the ACÉPO.

This province-wide joint program will include Web content featuring the ACÉPO’s schools, their programs and services, tips and advice, as well as vignettes about the Francophone experience in Ontario. In addition, the four schools boards will carry out their own specific projects to promote their regional realities, strengths and benefits and the quality of education provided in their schools.

More and more Ontario families are choosing to entrust the education of their children to the Francophone non-denominational school system. Year after year, the four school boards report a steady increase in their respective enrolment numbers and in many cases their growth rates are among the strongest in the province. Parents who are already aware of the academic, cultural and social advantages of non-denominational French language schools come to know that the learning environment they provide is especially welcoming and inclusive.

The four school boards form a province-wide network encompassing more than 120 elementary and secondary schools firmly rooted in all regions of Ontario.

From Toronto to Hearst, from Ottawa to Sudbury, from Windsor to Longlac, from Kingston to North Bay, “chez nous, c’est tellement plus”… we’re home to so much more! For further information, visit the website ecolesontario.ca/20 ans.
